It doesn't feel like two weeks have already passed since our Jesus Peiro Cala Collection Launch event - August seems to have flown by! Two weeks ago today we were busy prepping for one of the most important events of our summer, transforming the chapel from calming, private bridal showroom to a bustling, vibrant Barcelona square. In honour of Jesus Peiro's Catalan heritage we based the event on all things Spanish; bright, Gaudi inspired mosaics for the event graphics, bold colourful flowers in geometric pots, tasty Spanish street food and refreshing drinks. The highlight of the evening was of course the fashion, with Emma presenting the collection to our audience with insightful commentary and expertise. All images below taken by brilliant Surrey wedding photographer Juliet McKee Photography.
The Chapel
Gayle from Bloomin'gayles returned to chapel for the first time in a while in a triumphant blaze of uplifting red geraniums, elegant cala lilies and cheerful dahlias. The flowers were displayed in an innovative cobalt blue angled frame around the chapel archway, offset by huge white geometric pots, whilst bundles of vibrant chilies and herbs were dotted around in vintage tins to complete the Spanish look.
Inside, printed framed versions of our Gaudi inspired mosaic graphics and wanderlust-inducing Barcelona photography took pride of place in our display boxes.
Food and Drink
No food item that has ever been served at The Chapel has ever been commented on as often or as enthusiastically as the smoked almonds that were offered by Caper & Berry. They were a total revelation, and made the perfect accompaniment to the delicious white Sangria, alcohol free Seedlip Tom Collins' and crisp Prosecco that were flowing through the evening. The almonds were part of an impressive array of Spanish delicacies provided by the Goldalming based catering company. The wonderfully presented display was heaving with a smorgasbord of delicious delicacies: aged hams, fluffy frittatas, plump olives, mouthwatering chorizo bites and of course the aforementioned smoked almonds.
Beauty & Fashion - Behind the Scenes
The back room atelier was transformed into a beauty boudoir, with Carolanne Armstrong and Sharon Roberts in attendance to offer tips, advice and mini trials to our brides, with plenty of accessories to hand for trying on and experimenting with! It was also the perfect spot to use as a staging area for the salon style catwalk area and presentation.
The beautiful pyjama sets seen below were provided by Made Your Day, a new company launched by one of our recent brides, the lovely Victoria, who has launched her own nightwear collection. They were just perfect for Cristiona, Chloe and Clare to wear whilst getting ready and trying out the Boomerang Booth, a brilliant new service that made a fun addition to the party.
The Party
The event started at 7pm sharp, with Laura from all female DJ collective Spin Sisters creating a fab party atmosphere with her mix of relaxed beats and party classics. Following Emma's introduction and welcome, Georgia Meek performed a striking acoustic set, featuring a mixture of her own music (as played on ITV's Love Island) and moving covers.
Special thanks to Emma Joy The Wedding Planner for helping to organise the proceedings, and the lovely Georgie from The Wedding Present Co who also helped us to host the event, as well as sponsoring the lavish goody bags.
The peak of the evening was the fashion show and presentation - click here to see a separate post all about the show!
