Heather in custom Suzanne Neville Cavetto for a traditional, locally sourced countryside wedding

Today's gorgeous wedding comes to you from the picturesque family farm of Miss Bush bride Heather's husband, Tom, located in Sevenoaks, Kent. The bride and groom were married at their quintessentially English local church, St Mary's, followed by a beautifully styled, locally sourced reception at the farm.

Tom and Heather's day is the perfect of example of a rustic, countryside wedding done perfectly with elegance and style. Heather wore Suzanne Neville's Cavetto wedding dress, which she customised by having it made in the beautiful floral fabric used in the Rosa wedding dress from the same collection.

I fell in love with the Cavetto, it fitted amazingly and was extremely flattering. However, after trying the Rosa on I loved the gorgeous organza and how it just floated. I thought the Rosa fabric would suit my wedding style more, a summer country wedding at home.

I brought just my Mum with me when I found the dress. The thought of dress shopping was already very overwhelming so I wanted to just sneak off with the only woman whose opinion mattered. I knew it was the one from when she first saw me, trying to fight back the tears, as soon as a veil went on we were both goners!

Dress Shopping

Honestly, I was dreading dress shopping, there is so much pressure riding on it and its all everyone asks you when your planning your wedding; "Have you got your dress yet?"

I found most traditional bridal shops are small, enclosed, on the side of a road with a big goldfish bowel window and contained dresses covered in Rhinestones. The thought made me want to run for the hills!

I had already fallen in love with Suzanne Neville as a designer and found Miss Bush whilst searching for stockists. I immediately fell in love with the Chapel, a big open space, already made it less imposing, it was like my sanctuary of quiet where you can forget the endless wedding to do lists and enjoy some girl time. From start to finish the experience was as luxurious as the beautiful dresses.
Coming to Miss Bush was easily the best part of my dress shopping experience, all the staff were fabulous with special credit to Emma and Jo. I was nervous, but Emma's honesty and confidence was just what I needed. I didn't pick anything, she just took one look and handed me a selection. And I know it wasn't by chance I picked the first dress I tried on.

A traditional, locally sourced countryside wedding

I really wanted a very traditional but relaxed country wedding, church service in the village church and reception down the road at my husbands family farm. I wanted to keep it local and personal, which soon developed into a theme. Toms Uncle married us in our local church, the marquee company and caterers where family friends. My main vision was I wanted heaps and heaps of green foliage with white flowers, my florist was also a friend and truly embraced and brought to life my idea that I wanted to pick and forage for all the foliage and trees for decoration, incorporating the Farm and the beautiful Kent countryside into day. Why buy it when we had it all on our doorstep. My wonderful Godmother made our wedding cake and another friend provided our amazing wedding car. We ate our own beef, born and raised on the farm, cooked whole over a wood fire providing a spectacle for the day and all the food was seasonal and locally sourced.
