Laura & Alex had a relaxed, classic and chilled wedding in Wimbledon, with a romantic ceremony at Sacred Heart Church followed by a beautiful reception at Morden Hall, Morden.
Laura wore Jesus Peiro 7067 from the Mirtilli collection; a classic, elegant full skirted wedding dress with a strapless sweetheart bodice beneath a delicate lace top with full length sleeves.

Jesus Peiro 7067 lace wedding dress
I chose a Jesus Piero dress (7067). I was recommended to Miss Bush by a wonderful friend who had got married the year before. I only went to one boutique and you were amazing. I tried on some beautiful dresses (even ones that I never would’ve thought would look good on me) but when I tried on the Jesus Piero dress, I knew it was the one. My mum, Nan and sister all agreed which was a relief! I especially loved it because it had pockets! Who doesn’t want a dress with pockets!? I always knew that I would have long sleeves if we got married in a colder month and the low back just sold it for me! I didn’t love the neckline, but Corrinne assured me that this could be easily changed and when I went back for my fittings they completely got exactly what I wanted!
Dress Shopping
My mum, Nan and sister came with me when I found the dress. I tried on a number of different styles that I also loved but when I tried on the Jesus Piero dress, all of their faces told me that was the dress! It was a very special experience to have three generations to share this moment.
One of my amazing bridesmaids even left work early and drove me to almost every fitting!!
I was extremely lucky that I found the dress during my first appointment and it was such a calm experience at Miss Bush. I never felt pressured into any dress and Corrine was so amazing at helping me find the perfect dress.
Styling
I wore my mum’s diamond tennis bracelet, my aunt’s diamond earrings, Betty shoes by Charlotte Mills. My hair was put up and I had a very simple veil as I thought that the sleeves drew so much attention that I didn't need a busy veil.
A relaxed, classic wedding at Morden Hall
I got ready at Morden Hall with my bridesmaids and mum. It was a fantastic room to get ready in with great views and I even got to sneak a look at the best men practicing their speech from the window. Alex and the boys got ready in another room there so was quite funny when my bridesmaids are running around checking that Alex wasn’t around before I left the room.
We wanted a very relaxed, chilled and classic look at our wedding. We are quite a relaxed couple and wanted this to resonate through our wedding. We went for navy and white as I think it is a very classic look and suited the time of year that we were getting married in.
We wanted a celebration where everyone felt happy and comfortable. It was essential that we had great food, wine and music (and I think we achieved that)!
We had beer drums and prosecco baths, they are both our signature drinks and they went down very well with our guests! We also had a singer from a local pub that we love and so do all of our friends. It was amazing to have him sing our first dance song; You've got the love by Florence and the Machine.
The best bits
There are quite a few moments, but walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing Alex turn around was amazing!!
Laura's Advice
It is essential to actually enjoy the planning and the journey that you are on. I always made sure that after a dress fitting that my bridesmaids or mum went for some tea or prosecco after. It also helps to debrief.
Be organized! I religiously my wedding planner book that my bridesmaids brought me to keep letters, quotes etc. We also used excel to keep track of the money we had spent and replies so that we could sort food and thank you cards!
Be smart with the budget, we used the Father of the Groom’s car to transport the bridesmaids, which allowed us to use money in other ways. Our best man’s mother makes the BEST cakes and when she offered to bake ours we snapped up her offer.
Stay in the moment, I was anxious in the lead up and got myself quite worked up about feeling anxious on the day. I woke up feeling quite calm and although I did get very worked up about the rain in the morning, I was able to think about the bigger picture and know that no matter what the day would be perfect for us. Our photographer was so fab that you would never know that it had rained all day and was drizzling when we had our pictures done!
