We have a beautiful classic English wedding to share with you today. Phoebe and George were married in Norfolk at two stunning locations. The day began with a romantic traditional church ceremony at St Andrews Church in the grounds of the Blickling Estate. This was followed by a wonderful reception in The Great Barn at Oxnead Hall.
Phoebe wore the very special Miss Bush Pearl Anniversary dress, made exclusively for us by Jesus Peiro. The dress features a clean, elegant silhouette with voluminous ball gown skier and bracelet length sleeves. The dress is finished with delicate hand sewn pearls. Phoebe styled her dress with more beautiful pearls, choosing a pearl trimmed veil to match the earrings and necklace gifted to her by her husband to be on the wedding morning. For her 'something blue' Phoebe added a pair of royal blue heels from Manolo Blahnik, with a sparkly crystal embellishment.

Jesus Peiro Miss Bush pearl anniversary special wedding dress
The dress is pure elegance and everything I imagined in a ball gown style wedding dress. The extra pearl details was so wonderful and I felt the most beautiful version of myself every time I wore it. I had an idea that I wanted a big skirt and that you could not miss me being the bride. The dress was even more than I could imagine from my initial vision of the type of style I would look for. The dress to me would look beautiful on anyone, but it really work in favour of my hourglass frame. The dress was one of the first ones I tried and that was it, no more fittings were needed. I knew that was my dress, as much as I knew my husband was my for ever.
I bought my Mum with me when I found the dress and her reaction was priceless. She was speechless and just knew, with a few tears that it was the dress I would walk down the aisle in with my three brothers by my side.
Dress Shopping
My favourite part of the dress shopping experience was trying on all the dresses, there are so many beautiful ones and it was so fun having the opportunity to wear them.
My challenge was that I bought the sample dress which brides tried on when they went for their first visits to the shop. I am a sucker for a good bargain and Miss Bush were extremely generous to offer me that dress at a fair price. The team dry cleaned it for me as there were marks on the bottom, and they put me in touch with the experts in all things wedding dress fittings, Nortier Shallow. The team there were superb at working the dress to fit my body, as their challenge was there was not extra material to use they just had that particular dress to work with.
Styling
To match the pearl sleeves, I was gifted by my husband on the wedding morning with pearl earrings and a pearl necklace. I chose a veil from a local bridal store near where I got married which was decorated with pearls at the bottom of the dress. It was important to me to have something on my wedding day that was purchased in Norfolk where we got married and where my husband is partly from.
To finish the look I wore blue satin Jimmy Choo heels, with crystals on the toe.
A classic English wedding in Norfolk
Our aim for the wedding was to create a day full of love and happiness. We wanted a classic English wedding, that felt like us and had nods to our lives together. The day began with my bridesmaids and my closest family, all together in a beautiful Norfolk farm house. It was a relaxing morning, drinking champagne, eating pastries from Bread Source (a family favourite,) and getting pampered by my amazing makeup artist and hair stylist. When it was time to leave, waiting outside was a stunning classic car, an Alvis, decorated in flowers and gifted to us for the day by a family friend, in memory of my Dad.
For our ceremony, we chose a Church service that was close to George's family home, and next to a stunning National Trust house called Blickling Hall. It was a perfect back drop and created a lovely journey for our guests to arrive at the Church, as they walk passed the entrance to the Hall. The Church was open and bright, decorated with trees to represent those in our lives who were not physically able to be there, as well as stunning flower displays at the alter.
The Church was packed and buzzing with chatter from our nearest and dearest. When I arrived, two of my brothers were waiting outside to take me partly down the aisle, where we met my third brother who walked me the rest of the way. A moment I will never forget, filled with love and support with the absence of my Dad.
After the ceremony George drove us in the Alvis to Oxnead Hall. A venue that stole our hearts the moment we arrived for the first time. It is the most stunning place, with beautiful gardens, house, water at the bottom and a vista of cows over the river. With George being a farm vet, it mixed the two important factors of our wedding, elegance and personality, for us it was perfect.
The rest of the day went as well as it started, with our guests perusing the grounds with the sun shining down and a string quartet playing in the background. We then moved to the barn for our wedding breakfast, where stories were told, delicious food was served and a good few glasses of bubbles and wine were consumed.
Our day ended with a lot of dancing well into the night. The dress stayed on all day, as I did not want to take it off or dress into a new number. It was actually not heavy and I was comfortable from the moment I put it on at midday to 2am when it was time for bed.
I feel it is a dress that I will keep and pass onto my family one day, who can use it as they wish because the material is smooth silk and all the pearls are still on the sleeves. A dress that tells a love story, which will one day perhaps in a different way, tell a few more.
The best bits
My favorite part of the day was actually my speech, where I finally had the opportunity to share why and how long I have loved my now husband. It started 14 years ago when we were teenagers and to me George was just my brothers friend. But we went on a school skiing trip and ended up bonding over my terrible skiing ability at the time and from then we never left each others side, becoming great friends. I was able to share letters and stories of George and I communicating whilst I went off to boarding school, as well as the fact we were each others back up husband and wife. A truly magical experience to express my love for him to our friends and family, finally being able to call myself his forever.
Phoebe's Advice
Just as you knew you wanted to marry your partner, it is the same feeling with the dress, when you know you know. Do not let anyone else tell you otherwise, if it is the one you want and makes you smile from ear to ear, that is the one for you. Try on other dresses as well even if you think you have found the one, because to be honest, it is just so much fun!
A big piece of advice I can give is to make sure all your loved ones involved, know that is not their wedding. It is between you and your partner, all decisions and choices are yours alone. If you want their advice you will ask for it. highlighting this at the start of our wedding planning, really helped with preventing disputes on decisions related to the wedding.
We did also have a wedding planner as part of our package with our venue, this helped so much and if you can I would highly recommend.
