Today’s wedding is a total beauty! With a stunning custom Jesus Peiro wedding dress and effortless chic, beautiful styling, Sarah and Ned’s relaxed garden party wedding is a wonderful example of a relaxed, contemporary wedding at home.

CUSTOM JESUS PEIRO WEDDING DRESS

Which dress did you choose in the end? A multitude of Jesus Peiro’s dreamy designs!  I just loved everything about his dresses, and Emma, Corinne and Rosie couldn’t have been more helpful in guiding me through how I could make the dress my own, which I never imagined I’d be able to do!

I absolutely fell in love with the dotty tulle across the shoulders, and the soft neckline (that I was also allowed to be mega fussy with – sorry!) The full skirt with those amazing box pleats was so much fun to wear, and I really did feel like a princess in it!

Later on, being able to remove the fullness of the skirt, along with the sleeves and bow on the back, to leave a simple strapless gown with a ridiculously beautiful sparkly belt, felt equally magical but more relaxed for the rest of the day.

I must admit, having tried the dress on in many different parts in the run up to the decision, it was only when MY dress arrived from Barcelona that I really knew it was perfect. The vision that Emma/Corinne/Rosie had totally paid off! Genius!!!

DRESS SHOPPING

My Mum and sister, Lucy came with me when I found the dress; They loved it, and Mum even shed a tear and said “now THAT’s a wedding dress!!!” (She’s a big fan of a full skirt rather than the slinky numbers!) 🙂

What was your favourite part of the dress shopping experience? Quite honestly, I looked forward to every appointment so much, not just because of the sensational dresses Miss Bush have, but because of Emma, Corinne, Rosie (and the seamstress, whose name I can’t remember, so sorry!!!) who made every visit such a delight, and nothing was too much.  I mean, I honestly must have been THE fussiest bride and used parts of different dresses, but they all had the perfect balance of honesty and encouragement/excitement throughout the process.  Truly an amazing experience with you all, thank you 🙂

STYLING

I had a gorgeous bow for the ceremony from the 7011 JP dress, with flat French Sole white satin Love Heart pumps, then changed into the sparkly belt and some Florence sparkly heeled shoes for the reception. I had some Marlena Dupelle drop earrings with a touch of blue in, and flowers in my hair above the veil (was the veil Sassy Holford?!)

A RELAXED GARDEN PARTY WEDDING

About the day: We were after a very relaxed atmosphere, surrounded by our wonderful family and friends – that was our one goal. The rest fell into place from that idea, with a tipi on the lawn at my parents home (thank you M&D) that we all grew up in, with very relaxed, colourful and wild flowers everywhere, and sunshine (luckily) so we could be outdoors as much as possible…  After the ceremony, The Brass Funkeys (who we had seen play at Glastonbury the previous year and fell in love with) played “You Make My Dreams” as we walked back down the aisle and out of the church (a surprise to most!)  That really set the tone for the rest of the day!!!

THE BEST BITS

Surprisingly, having thought I would be overcome by nerves, I absolutely adored walking into the church with Dad and seeing all those faces we knew so well, and then Ned turning around from the altar.  We loved every second of the ceremony itself.  After that, its a long list of ‘favourite moments’ from leaving the church, the confetti throwing, a moment of peace with Tori (photographer) in the memorial gardens next door to the church, Ned finally telling me we were off to the Scilly Isles for our honeymoon, arriving at the reception and the whole afternoon/evening from that moment on being utterly perfect with spectacular speeches, scrummy food, and a JAM PACKED dancefloor all night!  (And a particular favourite of mine was the dessert table which went above and beyond what I had imagined (thank you S&R!!))  Every second was magical and Ned and I are still absolutely buzzing from it and on Cloud 9!!!

ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE

Go into ‘The Dress’ decision making process with an OPEN MIND.  I had such a clear view of what I wanted and I thought it would be gently flowing, completely embellished and quite modern/relaxed, but I tried on a classic JP big skirt and that was it. When else do you get to feel like a princess for a day!?

Wedding planning… try to avoid letting it take over your life and enjoy every bit of it for what it is without letting it become a chore. Ned and I agreed that if we were to sit down and ‘Wedmin’ it would never be without a bottle of wine, too!
