Our wedding today is filled with cosy, romantic winter vibes, with twinkling fairy lights and a show-stopping sparkly cape! Our bride Aisling married Steve in late November, at St Edmund Church in Godalming, followed by a beautifully styled reception at Millbridge Court, Farnham.
Aisling's bridal look began with the incredible 2275 cape - the finale look from the 2022 'Textures' collection. Made from exquisite, glittering fantasy tulle, the cape features a sweeping train and bold puff sleeves made from the lightest silk gazar. Aisling wore her cape with the chic, elegant 2305, with strapless neckline and a fitted bodice. For the evening, Aisling swapped the cape for the sparkly jewelled top from 2207 - just perfect for the dancefloor!

A Jesus Peiro wedding dress
I chose Jesus Peiro 2305 and added the 2275 cape and 2207 sparkly top for the evening.
I fell in love with the 2275 fantasy tulle cape first. I loved the drama of the puff sleeves, the enormous train, and the embellishment that caught the light. I knew it had to be part of my outfit, so that was our starting point. Unfortunately I struggled to find the perfect dress to go with it during that first appointment. About a week later through a sheer stroke of luck I happened to see an image of the 2305 dress on the Jesus Peiro Instagram before it was officially released. I called Miss Bush to check if they would be getting a sample in their next delivery. Luckily for me they had already ordered it and and booked me in for another appointment straight away.
I tried it on and it was perfect - understated, classic and elegant. It was the perfect base for the cape. We then added the jewelled top from 2207 for a bit of evening glamour and ended up with a complete look from morning to night.
I absolutely loved how I felt in both outfits. They were unlike anything I've ever seen before and I received so many compliments on the day.
Dress Shopping
I brought my sister with me for the appointment. I knew I could trust her opinion as she has great style, and I also knew she would be tough with me and help me come to a decision! We are both like magpies and were drawn to the sparkly 2275 cape first. We both loved it and worked backwards from there to find a dress to go with it!
It was a very special moment between the two of us when I found my wedding dress. I loved playing dress up! Trying on huge statement dresses, embellished dresses, slim fitting evening gowns. I found it so interesting to find out what made me like or not like a dress. I had no idea I was so into comfort! Anything that felt heavy or awkward to move in I dismissed regardless of how great it looked! I also loved spending time with my sister and making memories that will last a lifetime.
I'd been to many appointments at various designers before finding myself at Miss Bush. Either they didn’t carry exactly what I was looking for or they were unwilling to customise anything that came close. I wanted something with a big train but it had to be light enough to move and dance in, I wanted sleeves for the ceremony but they had to be removable, and I wanted something completely unique but still timeless. Not the easiest brief!
Thank you to Ben for guiding me through my appointments and convincing me to stick with my choices when my anxiety almost got the better of me! He really is an asset to Miss Bush and just a wonderful calming presence during appointments and fittings.
Styling
I think it was assumed I wouldn’t wear a veil as the cape was such a statement and we didn’t want to detract from it. However, wearing a veil felt so synonymous with being a bride that I insisted on having one! Ben helped me pick a single tier cathedral length veil that was sheer enough to still see the cape through. It was perfect!
On this theme I kept my remaining styling and accessories very simple. I wore my hair off my face in a sleek low bun with some beautiful pearl hairpins from Lilyloubridal via Etsy. I also wore some dainty pearl earrings from LuLuxCrafts also via Etsy.
My day shoes were from Rainbow and were just a simple white satin to match the dress. My evening shoes were some embellished slingbacks from Zara but I was actually having so much fun I never bothered changing into them!
About the Day
We got married in late November so I knew that it would be dark by the time we sat down for our meal. I wanted it to feel cosy, twinkly and romantic.
I knew from the beginning I didn’t want any greenery in our floral arrangements. The lovely Camilla made my dreams a reality by creating flower heavy displays that used rich brown ferns to bulk out the larger displays. We then covered the tables in as many tea lights and tapered candles as we could to create a warm glow. I got so many compliments on the flowers and had an abundance to send guests home with the following day!
We also had a wall of warm fairy lights which made the room feel magical. It really was breathtaking.
The best bits
My favourite part of the day was listening to the speeches. We were lucky to have three brilliant ones! Every time I hear my dad’s speech back on our video I well up. I also loved our ceremony. The week leading up to it I felt very nervous thinking about everyone looking at me as I walked down the aisle. However on the day I was so happy and excited to see Steve and all our friends and family that I loved walking into the church and seeing everyone’s smiling faces.
Aisling's Advice
In terms of finding the right dress I would say, be bold, stick to your guns, and wear something that makes you feel special. Don’t let anyone rush you or pressure you into a sale (some places will try!). Definitely don’t compromise until you’ve found the one!
I would definitely recommend getting a videographer. It’s amazing how much of the day you forget so quickly. We’ve had such fun watching our footage back with our family and friends.
I would also encourage anyone who can afford it to get a wedding planner! I wish I had done this as the planning is a full time job and I spent a lot of the year stressed rather than enjoying the process!
And finally I’d say if something doesn’t feel right, don’t be afraid to go with your gut and change it. We changed our photographer and florist about 6 weeks before the wedding and I’m so glad we did. You make some of these decisions on suppliers so far in advance and as different elements of the wedding start to come together you may find that your style has evolved or your taste has changed through the process. Don’t be afraid to alter things based on that.
