Today's featured wedding is a glorious South African celebration, taking place at Red Ivory, a contemporary venue on the slopes of the Magaliesberg mountain range. This stunning scenery was the perfect backdrop for our bride Bianca's wedding day to husband Aiden, which featured natural, elegant styling and plenty of wild, colourful flowers including bold South African protea.

Bianca is our very first bride to wear the incredible Jesus Peiro 160 wedding dress from the 2020 Cala Collection, which she styled so beautifully with an exquisite pearl studded veil, delicate pearl belt and chic Freya Rose heels.

Jesus Peiro 160 wedding dress

The reason I chose this dress was because I wanted something elegant and timeless but with an element of flare, I love that it had pockets which automatically makes you feel so much more comfortable in the dress. The green belt was also something that I was attracted to as it was different but subtle.

I felt so beautiful on the day, the dress moved perfectly and was so comfortable to wear.

With my mother and sister living in SA I made many visits to Miss Bush bridal to show them and my aunts who live here the dress, and each and every one of them were overwhelmed with happy tears when they saw the dress. Which sold me on the choice I had made.

Dress Shopping

Not only did I love the team at Miss Bush bridal, I loved the concept that it was in an old Chapel it just felt so fitting for a bridal shop.

One of my fittings I had to attend alone, which was a little upsetting for me, and the team were amazing in person and in email, I was given so much support it was extremely touching.

Styling

So for my ceremony I dressed my belt with a Pearl belt (I had made) to match my pearl veil (bought from Miss Bush)

I had bought my shoes from Freya Rose they had a mother of pearl heel (yes pearls where a bit of a big feature to my look, it was my grandmother’s favourite and it was my way of having her with me on the day.)

A a natural, beautiful wedding in South Africa

So our venue was in South Africa, we wanted to have part of it outdoors so that our guest could appreciate the views and backdrop. We went very wild flowers (South African flowers) but also very minimal with decorations as we wanted our venue and location to speak for itself.

The best bits

I would have to say the best part of the day for me was walking down the aisle, walking towards a man who had become my best friend and family all in one, knowing that everyone we loved was with us in one space to share that special moment of us becoming husband and wife.

Bianca's Advice

Be true to yourself, find what suits your body and just remember most people don’t always end up with what they thought they wanted in the beginning, take your time to find the perfect dress for you.
