Caitlin & Ryan's wedding took place in June at The Royal Automobile Club - Woodcote Park in Epsom, Surrey. The day was a fusion of the bride and groom's British and America heritage, with the Ryan coming from Los Angeles. The classic Countryside Surrey location was styled with Californian details, LA inspired white flowers and "inside outside living." On the UK side, the couple included a fab Black Cab photobooth.
Caitlin's dress was a special custom gown by Jesus Peiro, combining the fabulous wrap skirt from Style 121 with the square necked fitted bodice from 2214. Caitlin styled her look with chic, classic accessories including a pearl necklace and elegant ribbon edged veil. Statement heels are a must when wearing a wrap skirt, and Caitlin chose an incredible statement pair from Camilla Gabrieli. We love that she also swapped these for custom Converse later in the evening!

Jesus Peiro 121 / 2214 wedding dress
I chose the Jesus Peiro with the wrap skirt, square neck and POCKETS! I absolutely loved the wrap skirt - it was so me to have a bit of leg out. I am not the biggest person and I'm certainly more on the casual end of the fashion spectrum, so I was so nervous about a wedding dress just looking absurd on me. The wrap skirt was comfortable, cool and just my style - plus the pockets of course were great to brag about. The square neck was also perfect for me! I lack any feminine curve so plunge necks just look awful on me! The square neck just felt so comfortable and suited my sportier frame. The straps and boning meant I could dance and let loose with it sitting perfectly in place the whole time!
I took my mum with me when I found the dress - She had a similar reaction! We tried on a loads of styles, I think we both felt that I would go for a boho, gentler style because of my size but as soon as we put the square neck and wrap dress on we both were 100% certain! My mum actually didn't really cry, she cheered because it was just so me!
Dress Shopping
Emma just made me feel totally comfortable and in control. The whole time it was MY experience and MY dress. Zero pressure to do anything other than what felt right for me, and that gave me so much confidence. We tried so many styling options too, which again just gave me the confidence to trust what I liked and what I thought suited me best.
The biggest possible issue we had was being overseas!! I had to tried my dress a year in advance, and then not again until the week of the wedding. I had 100% confidence in the Miss Bush team - they answered questions before I even had a chance to ask them, so it wasn't ever a problem. I had one minor panic because of the cut around the arms on the week of the wedding, and within 48 hours it was totally fixed - like dressmaker magic to be honest!
Styling
Yes I loved the styling I went for!! I picked the two tier veil with the ribbon edge at Miss Bush - it was blowing and just looked so chic all day! I was obsessed! Oh and my SHOES - I think I looked at every single pair of white shoes on the internet and down Rodeo Drive. I found the perfect pair of Camilla Gabrieli shoes (the Sofias pumps) and I wish I could wear them every day. I wanted to do pearls (as that is my birthstone) so I had some mikimoto pearls that were gifted to me, made into a bracelet and necklace. The shoes were a white pump that didn't spoil the flow of the skirt, and just had a perfect pearl on the heel to tie it together.
A British American fusion wedding at The Royal Automobile Club
As we live in California, my husband is from LA, we wanted to merge the UK and US traditions. We got married on the lawn in the sunshine, in front of a flowy, flower covered structure which gave us that california feel. The boys all wore morning suits (top hats included to match my grandpas wedding and my parents wedding) and the ladies in bright coloured frocks and fascinators! I chose emerald green for the bridal party as I wanted something timeless that suited my four bridesmaids and I was super happy with the decision. Our flowers were whites, pale yellows and greens to match the wild flowers we get in LA in the spring. The whole event was designed with the california "inside outside living" - we got very lucky to have perfectly sunny day thank goodness!
On the English side - our photobooth was a black cab and people absolutely loved it! The pics came out great!
The best bits
Oooo - hard to choose. On the emotional side, it was the first look I did with my dad and then with my husband. I will cherish those moments forever! After doing the first looks we were totally relaxed so the ceremony was beautiful and we felt relaxed and happy and excited. So my second favourite moment was when we skipped back down the aisle hand in hand together to "All Right Now - Free" - we felt so cool!!
Caitlin's Advice
Try on every style!! Styles that look great in internet pics just might not be right for you at all - have fun with it, even if you look awful just laugh about it and it'll make you extra sure that you made the right decision. That and just do everything for you. You'll regret anything you do for other people - it's your wedding and your moment, everyone else should be happy enough with their free meal and keep quiet!
