Our featured wedding today was an absolute treat to share. Not only is Charlotte our first ever trouser-wearing Miss Bush bride to share her wedding with us, she also paired it with the most incredible CAPE! To make things even more magical, the wedding also took place at Christmas in the most breathtaking surroundings, at Hampton Court Palace.

Charlotte's bridal ensemble was made up of a custom Jesus Peiro outfit, utilising the wide leg palazzo trousers from style 154 with the fitted bodice from Jesus Peiro's 107 wedding dress. The look was completed with the exquisite EJH  Barbara Stanwyck hand beaded poncho cape. Charlotte's look is the perfect example of how combining individual pieces together can create a truly unique and special bridal look. Charlotte also added the incredible Jupiter headpiece by Miss Clemmie for an extra dose of celestial magical.

Read on to discover the back story behind Charlotte's chic and glamorous bridal look, along with photography by one of our Team Bush darlings, Hayley B Weddings.

Jesus Peiro bridal trousers with an Eliza Jane Howell Cape

I'd never dreamt of a "big day," I dreamt of falling in love and getting married, but not the event, and ergo, there was no "dream dress." I came to Miss Bush with a clear concept in mind - trousers. I had such fun during my two trial appointments trying on beautiful trouser concepts from Jesus Peiro. My biggest challenge with trousers was my venue. Getting married in the Royal Chapel at Hampton Court Palace does require some grandeur and my mother's main concern was that James (my husband to be) or my guests would look more "dressed up" than I. Enter the Cape! As our amazing photographer Hayley rightly said, "not just superheros wear capes..." Emma added the Cape to my concept and it was instant love - we had the look. Using our creative imagination, we pinched the top of a Jesus Peiro dress, paired with their wide leg trousers and topped with the Cape. I tried on every kind of Cape and settled on the Eliza Jane Howell Cape as it added that essence that we felt a Royal Chapel Wedding deserved. I pranced around the Chapel at Miss Bush and couldn't wait to try it on for every visit.

I should also mention my tiara (or Crown as I preferred to call it) from Miss Clemmie. I tried it on before I even looked at a dress in the Miss Bush Chapel and I decided in that moment, whatever happened that it was mine. It was surprisingly comfortable and as a gift my Maid of Honour bought me matching earrings for the big day.

Bridal Shopping

I had a fair few visits and my Mother was a constant source of support and ideas. My mother had pre-briefed Miss Bush that I was looking for trousers, for my first visit they managed to arrange two pairs for me to try on and by my second appointment there were as many trousers as dresses.

For the first two visits, I brought my best friend and Maid of Honour. My Mother was very keen for me to wear a dress. Having my best friend there helped me keep to my idea and the Miss Bush Team were amazing at making my dream came true. As soon as I was in trousers, with a Cape and Crown - my body language changed, I was relaxed and enjoyed the experience. My Mother was instantly sold too. My Mother added her touch by having the Cape customised to be covered in full in pearls & crystals.

When we finalised the look, I had one of my bridesmaids with me. I'd encouraged that she came as she had just got engaged herself - she soon made an appointment herself.

On my last fitting, we added a last minute veil. I had been against this as a waste but in reality, it added so much and it truly did make the look complete.

My favourite part of the dress shopping experience was having my "non dress" vision come true and feeling like myself on my big day - whilst also "fitting in" with my spectacular venue.

Styling

My Crown as mentioned above, was coming home with me from the moment I walked into the Chapel, even if Miss Bush couldn't make my trouser vision come true.

Finding shoes was the biggest challenge. I was adamant I didn't want to change my shoes during the day, as I felt that would loose the impact of the trousers. I tried on everything, I went everywhere, and finally settled on the ultimate party shoe. Silver glitter platforms from MiuMiu. They fitted in perfectly with the look and I was thrilled to be able to party all night in my platforms.

It was part of my dream that I would wear every part of my wedding look again. I've worn my shoes countless times already and my Crown on New Years Eve. I can't wait to wear my top with high-waisted jeans and heels in the summer and I've planned to wear my white trousers with a light cropped jumper to an upcoming event. I even have a plan for the Cape but I'll keep that to myself for now.

A magical Hampton Court Palace Winter Wedding

I should really refer you to my mother here... she made our "non dream" day become our dream wedding.

I had three requests for our wedding (1) to get dressed at home; (2) to be close to where we live for friends to travel; and (3) to take a London Taxi to the Chapel. On those she delivered. James and I grew up nearby and mum simply drove across the bridge and into Hampton Court when the Palace struck her. Mum called and there was one date left for 2019, December 21. James & I visited the Palace and decided immediately - no need to go elsewhere. The vibe instantly became a Winter Wonderland. We were very lucky to have the privilege to get married in the Royal Chapel.

Charlotte's Advice

Have fun, try on everything & don't fight the veil. Also, a bit like with the partner you've chosen to marry, you should know when you find the dream outfit. The great thing about the team at Miss Bush, is that they help you find the one for you, they instinctively know when you feel uncomfortable in something and when you feel great. Trust them.
