Our beautiful wedding today features our bride Elizabeth, who married Nicholas in a relaxed, fun wedding filled with lots of creative, thoughtful touches, many of which were made the bride herself. The wedding took place at the idyllic local church in Effingham, Surrey, followed by a wonderful reception at Gildings Barn in Newdigate.
Elizabeth wore a customised version of the delicate and pretty 8076 wedding dress by Jesus Peiro, which features elegant elbow length sheer lace sleeves and a graceful boat neckline - the perfect choice for her July wedding in the countryside.

Jesus Peiro 8076 wedding dress
When I was looking, I wanted a boat neck dress with lace on the top and plain fabric for the bottom half so this dress was perfect for me!! I absolutely loved wearing the dress on the wedding day, I felt absolutely incredible and elegant. I didn't want to take it off at the end of the wedding night!
My mum and sister came with me to Miss Bush. This was the first bridal shop and the third dress I tried on. I really liked the dress but I wanted to explore other bridal shops to be absolutely sure. After trying on 60 other dresses, I became so indecisive. My sister even said to me 'If you got married today, which dress would you pick?' and I said 'Jesus Perio 8076' straight away! So, I booked another appointment at Miss Bush to try on 8076 again and I just knew it was the one. My mum and sister had a big smile on their faces when I came out of the changing room. The dress came with bell sleeves which I didn't like so Emma suggested changing the sleeves to 3/4 length sleeve which was a great idea!
Dress Shopping
The whole dress shopping experience at Miss Bush was wonderful. The setting is so cool. I truly loved trying on the dresses as they are all so different and unique. Emma is a superstar. She really knows what she is talking about and is so passionate about her job. She would to pick out dresses that she felt would suit me and was completely honest in her opinions which I liked. The other bridal shops I've been to were pushy which I didn't like and some would say 'I looked lovely' in all of the dresses. Jo the seamstress was brilliant - she made sure I felt fabulous and comfortable in the dress.
Styling
I wanted to go for a relaxed look so I had my hair half up and half down with white flowers and wore pearl drop earrings. I didn't have too much make up as I didn't want to look like a different person. During the styling appointment, I bought a beautiful lace edge veil from you to match the top of the dress. I wore very comfortable shoes from The Rainbow Club - you can dye them after the wedding if you wanted to!
A fun, creative Surrey wedding
We wanted a fun and relaxed wedding surrounded by our wonderful friends and family. We didn't have a theme - just lots of pretty flowers, bunting, donuts and fairy lights! We just wanted everyone to have lots of fun!
We got married in a lovely local Church in Effingham. Afterwards, my husband's dad drove us to the wedding venue in his Jaguar Mark 2. We really enjoyed the ride across the countryside. The funniest moment was when my husband tried to open a bottle of prosecco in the car and we went over a speed bump and the cork flew up and the prosecco foam went all over the seat! Luckily I had tissues!
I come from a creative industry so I designed all of the stationery and learnt modern calligraphy. The table names were named after places we have been to in the UK. I really enjoyed being creative and it was nice to add a personal touch to the wedding. My amazing aunty made white bunting for the barn. The wedding cake was from Waitrose and I showed photos from Pinterest to the caterers of how I wanted the cake to look and they went beyond my expectations!!
The Best Bits
I have such a long list of favourite moments and it is so hard to pick! Every second of the day was absolutely magical. I remember looking at the congregation at church and thinking 'wow!' and wanted to wave at everyone! It was so special to hear my sister sing 'Pie Jesu' and my mum play the clarinet during the signing of the register. It gave everyone goose bumps. I loved the confetti throw and arriving the wedding reception. The food was out of this world. The speeches were so funny and heart warming. I cried (happy tears!) when the band said it was time for the bride and groom to leave. The band told everyone to create a long arch to the taxi door and we ran through the tunnel waving goodbye to everyone! It was amazing! My husband and I were buzzing and on cloud 9 after the wedding.
Elizabeth's Advice
1. Make sure you enjoy wedding planning and don't stress over the small details as no one will remember it!
2. Get a videographer - I saw that as a low priority and I am so glad we changed our minds and booked a talented videographer 3 months before the wedding! It is so lovely to watch the film and it makes us so happy every-time we watch it!
3. Remember to soak in the moment.
4. Have fun and you will LOVE it!
