We're delighted to share Eve and Oz's fabulous London wedding with you today! Taking place at Chelsea Old Town Hall followed by a reception at Century Club in Soho, their day was relaxed and fun, with a vibrant pink colour palette to reflect the joyful feel of the day. We love the laid back styling of the day which included mismatched bridal party outfits, and the most gorgeous pink bouquets.
Eve wore our Jesus Peiro 900 separates set, which includes a full, pocked skirt beneath a simple boxy top both made from beautiful textured fabric for a modern, effortless bridal look. Eve customised her outfit by removing the bows from the shoulders, one of which we made into a fab hair clip that looked gorgeous on the day!
We asked Eve to tell us all about her wedding to Oz, and her wedding dress shopping experience. Read on to find out more...
Jesus Peiro 900 bridal separates
I was OBSESSED with the fabric from the first time I tried it on, it was unlike any other bridal fabric I had felt and the way it hung and held the shape was amazing. It was much simpler than I was expecting, but the cut of the top and the shape of the skirt were so beautiful that I just fell in love! I only tried it on initially because I wanted to see what the shoulder bows looked like, but I ended up removing the bows and buying the separates! I felt modern, chic, London and so comfortable! There was no worrying about sucking in pants or being able to move and so I didn't have anything to worry about other than having fun.
I brought my mum and sister with me to the appointment, who burst into tears as soon as I put it on! They also were in love with the fabric, we just kept saying "omg this fabric!" over and over! Even when I tried on another dress somewhere else, they kept saying but it's not that other dress! We knew we had to go back and get it.
Dress Shopping
I absolutely loved building a relationship with Emma and her team at Miss Bush, you feel like part of the family! It was such a positive experience for me, I'm tall and curvy and so was worried about trying on samples (having been told by another shop I could only try on A line dresses!) but Emma made me feel totally comfortable straight away. My favourite part was how honest she was, in the best way! She knew what would suit me and what would and wouldn't work, and wasn't afraid to tell me which I valued so much. It really helped me narrow down what I wanted and be honest with myself, and led me to finding a whole look that I couldn't have come up with on my own. The team are so experienced, kind and a lot of fun, every trip to the chapel was something to look forward to and my mum is gutted she won't be going back!
I had to postpone my wedding date twice and then ended up cancelling the original big wedding and planning a small London wedding with 3 months notice! Miss Bush were so understanding and accommodating through all the changes and made sure I had time to do everything, and never once made me feel like a problem.
Styling
I styled my look with a lot of help from Emma and the team - they were amazing! I had a simple full length veil, that the team adapted for me to become a custom piece! The shoulder bows that came with the dress were modified to become one double loop bow that was attached to my veil. It was incredible!! It was so special to have a unique veil that matched my dress and added some jujzh to my whole look, and made me feel so special. I really trusted the whole team and they are so wonderful at coming up with ideas and solutions that are always chic! Emma also suggested some pearl drop earrings that looked great with my look and matched the pearl on my shoes. I had Nicholas Kirkwood heels that have a pearl in the heel and then later in the night changed into my 'bride slides' that were white and silver adidas pool sliders!
Eve & Oz's laid back Chelsea old town hall wedding wedding
It's a cliche, but it was genuinely the happiest day of our lives! We styled it in the simplest way possible, once we cancelled our big wedding we decided to go with all the easiest, lowest stress choices and it honestly made the day so amazing. Just letting go of all the stress and trying to make everything perfect and too planned made it full of fun and joy! We had our ceremony at Chelsea Old Town Hall where my parents got married 40 years ago, and it was incredible. Everyone there was so lovely, and the building is gorgeous inside and out - we're both Londoners so getting married at an iconic London location felt right to us. Afterwards we went to the Century Club in Soho who were beyond amazing, their staff and service was the best we've ever experienced and they went above and beyond to give us a special day. We were able to have drinks on their rooftop with amazing London views, the margaritas were flowing and the food was delicious! having 30 people meant we were surrounded by our best friends and closest family which made it so full of love and fun - we are actually so grateful that the restrictions meant it had to be small, it was the wedding we should have had all along!
In terms of the rest of the styling, I told my bridespeople to wear pink their way, any shade, any style and I love how they all looked together! The pink vibe was carried on in the flowers (I LOVED my flowers, big blooms and different tones) and also the wedding cake and table accents. We gave briefs to everyone we worked with without being too pedantic and trusted them to do what they do, and it was all so beautiful. I wouldn't change a thing!
The best bits
There were so many highlights, but one of the most special parts was meeting Oz outside Chelsea. It was hard to try and plan not seeing each other before hand, so we decided to make it stress free and meet out the front before hand. It was nice to have our family and best friends there for the moment, and it meant we weren't worrying about bumping into each other and could go into the ceremony together and support each other. I also loved getting drunk with all my friends after so long in lockdown! But I really paid for it the next day trying to get to our hotel in the Cotswolds!
Eve's Advice
Let go! Don't worry too much about all the details and all the things you 'should' do, just let go of the stress any the perfectionism and let it be! You'll have the best day anyway, and you won't even remember what the napkins looked like!
