Jessica & Daniel's wedding was a classic, botanical themed wedding inspired by nature with lots of beautiful foliage and elegant white flowers. The ceremony took place at the bride's childhood church in Lowdham, Nottingham, followed by their reception at Norwood Park Country House in Southwell.
Jessica chose to wear the Jesus Peiro 900 separates set which includes a full, pocked skirt beneath a simple boxy top both made fro beautiful textured fabric for a modern, effortless and comfortable bridal look.

Jesus Peiro 900 separates
I didn't have a particular dress or brand in mind when I first visited Miss Bush, but I had visions of a simple design, a sleeveless dress and a nice back! On my second visit I chose the Jesus Peiro 900 separates - a beautiful boxy cropped top with a medium volume skirt. I knew I wanted a dress which reflected my own style, and the textured fabric, clean lines and sports luxe style of the 900 did exactly that! I really felt like myself in it - I absolutely loved how modern and contemporary the separates felt whilst still being elegant and timeless, perfect for our church wedding. Emma came up with the idea of customising the top slightly to incorporate a V back, it was amazing being able to make changes to the design and made the whole experience so personal!
I brought my Mum and Sister to my appointments at Miss Bush, we're all very practical women so I knew they would give their honest opinions about the dresses I tried, and I really valued their input. They definitely didn't hold back - there were a few resounding NO's along the way too! I'm very indecisive so I wasn't expecting to find 'the one', however when I tried the dress I chose we were all in agreement that it was the right one for me, we hadn't seen another dress like it and I felt so relaxed and confident in it! As I live in London, coming to Ripley was a great day out - we celebrated finding the dress with a glass of wine and lunch at The Anchor after my appointment!
Dress Shopping
I'd visited several other dress shops prior to visiting Miss Bush, and felt a little deflated about the whole dress shopping experience. The approach at Miss Bush is like nowhere else - they really are experts and take into consideration your personal style. Emma was amazing at picking out dresses that would suit me and giving an honest opinion about what would and wouldn't work - I am extremely indecisive and needed a bit of direction!
Trying on my dress once it had been made was amazing, as the design of the back had been altered it was the first time I'd seen it in person and it looked even better that I had imagined! Rosie was brilliant in suggesting veils that would compliment the style of the dress and accommodated my indecisiveness by ordering a veil into the shop especially for me to try at my next appointment.
My final dress fitting where I saw the whole final look come together was so lovely. Jo was fantastic at my fittings and made sure my dress fitted perfectly on the day, nothing was too much trouble! Trying on my shoes, earrings and veil with the dress made it all feel very real!
Styling
As we had a church ceremony, I opted for a simple two tier veil which really made me feel like a bride!I chose gold accessories that I could wear again and again and be reminded of our wedding day whist wearing them! It was important to me to be comfortable on the day so chose block heeled Gucci sandals for my shoes and I was able to dance all night! My beautiful earrings were by Tilly Thomas Lux - they were so sparkly and really stood out against the simple design of the dress. I also wore a garnet ring that belonged to my late Nana, it felt like she was with us on the day - she would have loved to join in with the dancing!
A botanical, nature inspired Norwood Park wedding
We had a traditional wedding ceremony at my childhood church which was really special, followed by a reception at Norwood Park - a beautiful country house in Nottinghamshire, where Daniel and I both grew up. We wanted a venue close to home with accommodation for our closest family and friends to make the whole wedding weekend as personal as possible. Good food and good wine were essential and Norwood were brilliant in helping us design a bespoke menu which was so delicious!
Our theme was botanical and classic, with lots of foliage and natural white flowers. My extremely talented friend Sophie is an amazing florist and we gave her free reign with our flowers, they were so beautiful! My bouquet was really extravagant and I loved it. Family friends worked so hard to create the flowers at the church which were perfect.
We made our wedding favours ourselves, gold jars of earl grey tea which is something we both drink a lot of... Our on the day stationary by Rose Press really tied the whole theme together.
I had eight beautiful bridesmaids - I wanted them all to feel comfortable on the day so they chose their own dresses within a blush colour palate which worked so well, they all looked incredible!
The best bits
Daniel drove us away from the church in a classic Morgan which belonged to my Father In Law Phil, who sadly passed away in January. This meant so much to both of us, and this time together just the two of us, on the way to the venue was without a doubt our favourite moment of the day.
Another favourite moment was during the wedding breakfast, looking around the room at all of our favourite people. We felt so incredibly lucky to be surrounded by so much love!
Jessica's Advice
Think about your own personal style, and how you can reflect this on your wedding day. It wasn't until Emma suggested dresses for me to try based on what I was wearing that day to the chapel that I realised how important it was to feel like myself!
My advice with regard to wedding planning is to be as organised as possible, so that you can relax and enjoy those final weeks in the run up to the wedding with your loved ones.
Social media is fantastic for inspiration and ideas when planning a wedding, but every wedding is personal, don't fall into the trap of comparing your plans with unrealistic ideals and remember the the important part - celebrating love!
