We're so pleased to share Sophie and Joe's gorgeous Hampshire wedding with you, which took place in mid-September at the beautiful Cain Manor. The day was the perfect mix of fun, relaxed and elegant, with stunning flowers and styling in beautiful surroundings.
Sophie is our first featured bride to wear Jesus Peiro's fabulous 2501 wedding dress; a wonderful gown featuring bold puff sleeves in textured chiffon, with a delicate sweetheart neckline. To style her look, Sophie added classic diamond jewellery and a pair of chic but comfortable block heels.

Jesus Peiro 2501 wedding dress
I think I must have tried on way too many options during that very first appointment, I had the last appointment of the day which is just as well as the ever so patient Emma let our appointment time run over slightly. I think everyone was sick of me towards the end but I eventually settled on Jesus Peiro 2501. Originally I was interested in the big voluminous Jesus peiro dresses and actually the one that I went on to pick wasn’t even one I had chosen to try on, which is testament to Emma’s incredible expertise.
I couldn’t believe how beautiful the dress looked on, it seemed to hide the areas that I was self conscious of, the fantastic giant puff sleeves did wonders to make my arms look, in Emma’s words, like little twigs! I loved that the sheer material almost looks as though there’s a sparkle in it which added a bit of intrigue to the dress, and the higher waist line was insanely flattering on me too.
My sister and my mum came along with me to find my dress. I loved every single dress I tried on but their reactions when I walked out in this dress meant there was no way I was going for anything else! My sister even said to me after the appointment, ‘I knew you’d look beautiful, but I didn’t think you’d look that beautiful!’ So I knew I’d picked a winner!
Dress Shopping
My favorite part of dress shopping was definitely getting to visit the gorgeous chapel, it truly is such a beautiful place, I wish I could do it all over again! I was made to feel so comfortable during my appointments when I was sure I’d feel self conscious, I simply just felt beautiful! Everybody had invaluable advice at every point in the process, whether it was Emma throughout that first appointment or Rosie during the styling appointment all the way up to Jo in the fitting appointments, everyone was fantastic.
I had booked my wedding only 6 months before the wedding date so as soon as I got in touch the team made sure I was booked in for an appointment as early as possible so there was enough time to get the dress made and altered in time. To be honest any issues I had were taken care of without me even knowing, I had mentioned in passing to Emma at my first appointment that I work on the days that Miss Bush hold their fittings appointments and so the team arranged for me to come in on days they wouldn’t usually offer fitting appointments which was so appreciated and saved me a lot of worry!
Styling
I wore a pair of platinum Esska mid heel shoes, having arthritis I wanted a shoe that I knew I would be comfy in the whole day. I also wore a dainty Monica Vinader diamond bracelet that my mother in law had very kindly gifted me. For the evening I wore a satin bow embroidered with mine and Joe’s initial on either side from Gigi & Olive. My first lobe earrings I wore were from Ella Stern and my cartilage piercing ring was from Astrid & Miyu.
A fun and beautiful wedding at Cain Manor in Hampshire
We chose Cain manor because it is absolutely gorgeous and exactly the style I love, but not too large of a venue as we knew we would have a small- ish guest list. They also have 11 rooms for guests to stay which was a huge selling point for us as Joe has a big family that we knew would need rooms to stay in, it all worked out perfectly for us.
My sister who has two allotment plots offered very generously to grow my wedding flowers for me! She may have regretted that decision in the lead up to the wedding, but my word did she pull it out of the bag! We had a big team of family and friends who all came to help us arrange the flowers and set everything up the night before, it was so touching that so many people were so keen to help us. I even got to arrange my own bouquet which was a very proud moment for me!
I also made my own wedding cake and was adorning it with the leftover flowers at 7o’clock the morning of the wedding! Although we did a lot ourselves I don’t think I’d have had it any other way, I loved the whole process from picking the flower seeds my sister was going to grow to icing cakes just hours before we left for the venue, it was mad but brilliant!
The best bits
My favorite moments would have to include the speech my sister did, it was the closest I came to shedding a tear but I was determined not to ruin the makeup!
I also loved seeing everyone at their tables during the meal getting on so well, it really is true what everybody says about the table planning being so difficult to navigate! We had to mix up a couple of the tables so it was just so lovely looking over and seeing everyone laughing and chatting.
Lastly, we actually had a power cut half an hour before the ceremony due to torrential rain and a thunderstorm, the ceremony was interrupted by a loud crack of thunder at one point and all we did was laugh. It just made it so memorable for everyone and the rest of the day was bright sunshine- as if it had never happened!
