JESUS PEIRO 8004 WEDDING DRESS

Before I even went to any bridal stores I spent hours looking online at dresses and was starting to think ‘my’ dress didn’t exist. I saw the Jesus Peiro 8004 by chance after looking at a flyer from my venue, and I instantly knew it was the one. Desperately googling it to find more images ‘Miss Bush’ was the first page to come up, and almost as if meant to be, upon asking my girlfriend where they would recommend for service, experience and dresses they all said, it can only be ‘Miss Bush’.

I knew I wanted sleeves and to be classic but with a modern twist, simple but with something statement and this dress had it all and more. From the minute I put it on, I felt like me, but wearing the most beautiful dress there could be. It just felt right.

DRESS SHOPPING

On our day of shopping my mum and bridesmaid’s knew that I was pretty sure I had found ‘the one’ and Miss Bush had it in… we just needed to finalise it by actually trying it on.I didn’t show them any photos before hand, because I wanted an honest reaction of how it was on me rather than the models – as soon as I walked out they loved it. My bridesmaid Jess told me later that she was trying to hold it together because she knew if she cried, my mum and Louise (other bridesmaid would too) – and then everyone would be a mess. My third Bridesmaid lives in Stockholm and we Facetimed her in and it was so nice to be able to include her in it all.

Miss Bush was the first shop I booked to visit, specifically to try the dress I was 99% sure was the one. Nevertheless, this was only happening once and we were absolutely going to make the most of it, and so we left Miss Bush to last and visited a variety shops and tried on every shape under the sun. From the minute we walked in to Miss Bush it was a completely different experience, to have the store to yourself and plenty of time to look around, Corinne actually listening to what we were all saying and suggesting things inline with that – the service was just incredible, but most importantly, we all felt comfortable and welcome – even my Bridesmaid’s new born baby, Daisy.

Every trip to Miss Bush was special, the Chapel is so unique and even the fitting rooms at the back are decorated so beautifully. The icing on the cake was all the events we were invited to as a ‘bride’ it’s such a nice touch and adds to the whole experience.

STYLING

My partner (Dave) had only one major request for the whole wedding – I had to wear shoes I could comfortably walk and dance in for the whole day and night (too many nights have ended early due to beautiful but painful shoes!), so my shoes were my something old – kitten healed with a diamante strap across the toe and ankle, there were the shoes I had worn to over 20 black tie events in the past and which I knew my feet could handle for up to 16 hours (they were busy charity gala events where I was working and so very well broken in!). My mum managed to find a company online and she and they did a little refurbishing job and they looked as good as new.

I knew I didn’t want a veil partly because I wanted the dress to stand out as a statement on its own, but also because I know i’m fussy and didn’t want to risk getting annoyed at my Dad or Dave if they accidentally stood on it on the day – so I removed all chance of that and opted for as glamorous a hair style as I could find instead.

My earrings were my something borrowed, from my mum, by chance almost an exact match to my engagement ring – they finished the look off perfectly… and now i’m constantly trying to borrow them again 🙂

A RELAXED BUT ELEGANT HEDSOR HOUSE WEDDING

Our day was white/cream and a lot of greenery, with a little sparkle thrown in for good measure – we tried to match our style and taste rather than going with a theme. We loved our venue and I would highly recommend it to any bride looking for a traditional English venue, with incredible rooms and the largest bridal suite in Europe- getting ready in there was a dream! Hedsor House is beautiful as are the grounds and so we really didn’t need to try too hard – we aimed to bring the outside in through our flowers, added some sparkle here and there and a touch of lighting to help with mood.

As bride and groom you feel special from the moment you get engaged and we wanted our friends and family to feel that way too and enjoy the day as much as we did. Everything we did was special to us and our guests, our wedding breakfast was made up of our favourite meals, we had a life size cut out of Dave that ran it’s own beer bar (stocking his families favourite), he chose my entry song and I chose our exit song, our wedding favours were gratitude rocks which is something I love. For our guests we created ‘Who’s who’ cards to help them all get to know each other better and hopefully sharing some funny stories and where we could, we asked our friends and family to be involved – my incredibly talented friend Caroline did all the stationary, David’s aunt is an exceptional cake maker and another amended a reading to be tailored to us. Our friend George acted as Master of Ceremonies, and my friend Helen who has a unbelievable way with words wrote and read a poem so unique to us it will be treasured forever. And that’s not even mentioning the Bridal party!

Our style was us, inspired by friends and family.

THE BEST BITS

I couldn’t pick a favourite part of the day if I tried…we were just so happy.

advice from the bride

My tip on the dress would be to find something you feel like the most fabulous version of you in, if it feels comfortable, it’s right.

As a general tip, everyone told me, the day will go so fast… and it did, but not in the way everyone said it would…. I think my biggest suggestion to any bride would be to leave your phone upstairs. We don’t do that so much in day to day life and not having it with me meant I could take everything in. Ask friends and family to take photos casually so you get the candid shots you might be used to taking yourself – time suddenly lasts longer when you aren’t trying to do extra things! If your phone isn’t your normal distraction like it was mine, then think about what it could be on the day that would take your attention away, and plan for it in advance and give the job to someone else, then you can totally enjoy each and every minute.
