We're delighted to share Meriam and Win's classic but relaxed wedding at beautiful stately home, Brympton House, in Somerset. The day was elegant and timeless, with chic styling and beautiful floral arrangements with a soft white and powder blue colour palette. The wedding was great fun for the guests, with outdoor games, activity packs for the children, and energetic ceilidh dancing to celebrate!
Meriam wore two fabulous outfits for the event, both from Miss Bush. For the ceremony, the bride chose Jesus Peiro's iconic 166 wedding dress. This minimalist style features a sports luxe inspired racer back, alongside a voluminous skirt with fitted waist for a striking silhouette. Meriam styled this first look with a sparkling statement veil from Nortier at Miss Bush, with classic Jimmy Choo court shoes. For the evening, Miriam changed into Sophie et Voila's Daniella; a playful mini dress with glittering fringed hem and high neckline. For this look, Meriam changed her hair to a chic high ponytail, and switched her heels for Veja trainers which were perfect for the ceilidh!
Read on to find out more about the day in Meriam's own words, and her dress shopping experience at Miss Bush.
Jesus Peiro 166 wedding dress and Daniella by Sophie et Voila
I chose lots of things! We were fortunate to have a wedding weekend so I went a bit mad at Miss Bush and got an outfit for each day.
In terms of the main day, I chose the JP 166 and Nortier glittery veil as my "main event" outfit, and the Daniela Sophie et voila as my party dress
I came into MB with a very firm idea of what I liked. I had known for a few years I would end up with a JP dress and I had done my homework. I adored the 166 as I felt most like myself in it. The cross back made me feel like I was wearing a sports bra and was a nod to our love of cycling. The high neck was modest and classic. The cut was so clean and elegant, I couldn't have asked for a more perfect dress.
Dress Shopping
My mum, Paula and sister Summer came dress shopping with me. They loved the dress- it was between the 166 and the 2410, and both are stunning, but my mum observed my shoulders were more relaxed whilst wearing the 166 and she was spot on- I felt more me.
My favourite part of the experience was Corinne and the Chapel. It's such a chilled lovely environment to browse dresses in, and the whole experience was lovely without any pressure.
Styling
For the main day- I had a beautiful glittery Nortier veil which was a running theme throughout the wedding weekend ( lots of sparkle featured- as with another JP cape I got for the rehearsal dinner!)
My shoes were lovely classic patent white Love Jimmy Choos
I had a silk pearl Jimmy choo clutch
Pearl and diamond earrings which were a gift from my mother in law
Pearl bracelet from Myrtle Jewelry. And our rings of course, also from Myrtle Jewelry.
Later on for the party I had to go for some fresh Veja kicks as we had a ceilidh 🙂
An intimate, classic wedding at Brympton House, Somerset
We got married in Somerset which is where my parents live, and is special to us both. Win's family all flew in from Bangkok!
The theme was classic white for florals and blue for guests/ bridesmaids.
It was very important to us that no one- adult or child- was bored (or hungry) so we went all in on the snacks and entertainment- Harpist, brass band, mini golf, soft archery, balloon artist and live event artist and magician!
All the kiddies had their own personalised colouring activity book at the table to keep them busy- it's a tall order to sit still for that long- it's an investment in everyone's happiness.
We went for a macaron tower instead of cake as we thought everyone would be full after having a giant delicious pudding from Passeti and Boote, and it was perfect, with our favourite macarons from Pierre Herme (a classic treat of mine and Win's from our university days.)
Later on in the evening we had a brilliant ceilidh (Remix reeling, highly recommend!) which was just perfect to get adults and kids involved, and late night pizza!
We feel so lucky to have had such a wonderful day with no major hiccups.
The best bits
Sitting down together at our sweetheart table - it was something I pushed for and Win was not sure about- and once we sat down in the moment he volunteered that I was right about it - I highly recommend it. You need that time to actually eat the amazing food you have chosen, be together and take in the beautiful room around you with all of your favourite people.
Meriam's Advice
Do your research about the designers, be open to trying new things as you never know and trust your instinct about what you feel relaxed wearing.
