Nadia and Rich were married in Spring at Bruisyard Country Estate, Suffolk, at a beautifully styled wedding day inspired by their 17th century barn venue. Natural, rustic details and elegant florals were combined with a crisp white colour palette adding a contemporary feel to the day.

Nadia's dress was a customised version of Jesus Peiro 2212 wedding dress. The incredible floral brocade skirt with split (and pockets!) remained the same, whilst Nadia tailored the bodice to her own personal style to include sleeves, an enclosed button back and statement shoulders. Whilst Nadia kept her styling simple, statement shoes are an absolute must for a wrap skirt, with our bride opting for a stunning pair of emerald green Loeffler Randall sandals. These looked incredible with her dark hair and striking red lip! To finish the look, Nadia added co-ordinating emerald earrings and a fabulous bouffant veil.

Jesus Peiro 2212 wedding dress

After trying on almost every Jesus Peiro in the boutique, I went for the 2212 with bespoke changes to the top half, adding 3/4 sleeves, a sharp shoulder and a full back with buttons instead of the backless halter original design.

I felt so comfortable, entirely myself and really unique. I absolutely loved the drama and movement in the skirt, the pockets....a dream! Having something unique, that reflected my personality and made me feel so comfortable was amazing. I'd honestly always dreaded the dress part of getting married - but Emma, Ben and the team at Miss Bush helped me find the perfect dress for me.

Dress Shopping

I brought my mum and sister to my first appointment, but only decided on some of the bespoke changes at my second (solo) appointment so they were totally surprised at the final fitting! They absolutely loved it, especially the unique touches like the sharp, graphic shoulder and of course the incredible fabric of the skirt.

The whole experience was a dream. I never felt I'd have to change shape, diet, lose weight or compromise my vision to fit into a dress - it was really clear that the dress would fit me and what I wanted throughout. The ability to alter and change the design was a huge plus too!

Styling

I wanted to keep my styling fairly simple to allow the dress to shine....the exception being my amazing green Loeffler Randall shoes. It took me MONTHS to track down a pair in my size and colour, finally sourcing a pair from a bridal shop in Ireland! With the open skirt, I needed a statement pair of shoes to complete the look and these really delivered.

I added a long, bouffant veil from Miss Bush (by the lovely Ben's Nortier Shallow brand), a simple white gold and diamond bangle and a pair of white gold and emerald earrings to complement the green and white theme, and my emerald engagement ring.

I went with hair up, with loose curls and an art deco style hair slide (also purchased from Emma's Depop account!) to complement the high neck of the dress.

A contemporary, rustic wedding at Bruisyard Country Estate

Our venue was so natural and beautiful, we wanted to really complement it with a contemporary, natural and slightly rustic feel. We had a green and white theme, with plenty of natural foliage and white flowers, candles and some oversized balloons to add some height and interest in the reception room.

Our florist, Jess from Blooming Brilliance, created a gorgeous statement feature tree for both the ceremony and wedding breakfast, which tied in beautifully with my natural, wild white and green flower and foliage bouquet.

We tied this theming in across all of our wedding stationery, and with the little favours - personalised Yorkshire teabags, because we both love a cuppa, and personalised mints to keep everyone fresh! We even provided green and white dried natural confetti to make sure everything was on theme 🙂

The best bits

There were SO many favourite parts - seeing each other for the first time at the ceremony, having all of our favourite and most loved people with us, dancing the night away....our overriding memory was just how much fun the whole day was, and how loved we felt. I wouldn't change a single thing - even the rain, it made for some gorgeous photos!

Nadia's Advice

Trust yourself, and create the day you really want. If you and your partner are happy and having fun, everyone else will too!

In terms of dress shopping, I would say really research the brands and boutique - if you have a strong sense of yourself and your style, it is really worthwhile spending a little more (if you can) to work with a brand and a boutique that will deliver what you really want without having to make sacrifices.
