We're so pleased to share Polly & Alex's wedding with you today, and especially excited as Polly is the first bride we've shared wearing the show-stopping Style 246 from Jesus Peiro. We were obsessed with the chic puff sleeves the moment we saw it and couldn't wait for the day we would finally get to see it in action. Polly looked absolutely stunning in it for her West Sussex wedding to Alex on a gorgeous August day, surrounded by beautiful flowers and idyllic scenery.

Read on to find out more about that day in Polly's own words, as she shares their wedding planning story and her experience finding her Jesus Peiro dress.

Jesus Peiro 246 wedding dress

I loved how elegant this dress felt - it’s very old school glamour with the big sleeves but the cut of the front and back feel quite modern. I never expected to chose a dress like this, but as soon as I tried it on I felt it celebrated my body shape and features. I love that it made quite a statement- no one was expecting me to wear a dress like this!

I brought my mum with me when I found the dress - we tried on several dresses and I really loved them all. We narrowed it down to a few- the other dresses were far more modern in cut and style. I had seen the 246 on the hanger and asked Emma if I could perhaps just try it before I made up my mind…. And there was no going back!

Dress Shopping

I had a Skype consultation with Emma prior to my first initial appointment in The Chapel and it totally put any hang ups I had about wedding dress shopping at ease. It was like having a chat with a friend… she totally got my vision and was encouraging of me trying things I might not have thought of. When I then got to meet her in real life- it was a delight. I came away feeling better about my body and personal style than when I walked in and most importantly I had found the dress and was SO excited about it!

We’ve been incredibly lucky- this was our first attempt at our wedding day and apart from travel restrictions meaning a few guests couldn’t attend- all went according to plan.

Styling

Very simple - I wanted the sleeves to have their moment! I wore irregular pearls on gold hoops as earrings and wore white Aloha heeled sandals. The simple JP veil set the whole look off perfectly.

A relaxed, Summer wedding in West Sussex

We always wanted to have a very relaxed, fun day. We chose to get married at the church right next door to Alex’s parents house so guests could walk through the garden gate after the service and straight into the party. Late summer English flowers- muted dusty pinks & peachy oranges were our focus in terms of colour palette- supported by the gorgeous tones found around the garden in the sunflowers, cosmos, dahlias, wheat and barley. It was magical!

The best bits

All of it - but shucking oysters and sipping champagne while listening to the jazz band play in the garden during our reception- surrounded by lots of flowers and our favourite people is pretty hard to beat! We then danced all night….!

Polly's Advice

Take Pinterest images with a pinch of salt and don’t get too hung up on recreating something you’ve seen. You want everything about your wedding to reflect you- and not be a carbon copy of an image thousands of people have saved to their ‘Wedding Board.’

Everyone thinks they know what suits them- and what does and doesn’t work on their figure- but be open minded, try on lots and trust that Team Bush will make magic happen!
