Sarah wanted a big dress, which led her to Jesus Peiro’s fab 7014, with it’s full dramatic skirt topped with a contemporary round necked bodice. The striking contemporary dress offered the perfect contrast to Sarah and Nick’s woodland luxury wedding day, helping to keep the look fresh and modern.
Here’s what Sarah had to say about her dress, shopping experience and the idea behind the woodland luxury theme.
Jesus Peiro 7014
I knew I wanted a BIG dress, and from the moment I tried this dress on I knew it was the one. I loved the simplicity of the design and striking neck line and the material was just so luxurious. It was modern with the front bow detailing, yet so classic and timeless at the same time.
STYLING
I knew I wanted a statement cathedral veil and I chose to have floral detailing on the veil to reflect my love of flowers and change in career to floristry! I kept my jewellery simple but luxurious borrowing my mums diamond earrings and wearing a bespoke designed necklace featuring a diamond given to me by my new husband! I chose some chic, yet sensible LK Bennett/Jenny Packham wedding heels, and wore them the WHOLE time (even though I had bought some others to wear for the evening!.
A WOODLAND LUXURY WEDDING
Nick and I love the outdoors and wanted to reflect this throughout our wedding day, our theme was ‘woodland luxury’ and I chose ferns and foligage to reflect the countryside surroundings and the rustic nature of our reception venue. We are lucky to have farming friends and access to loads of really cool props, so we ended up styling the whole venue ourselves including making our own bar, slicing our own log centre pieces and creating our amazing hot air balloon feature, not to mention the living fern wall as a photobooth backdrop. We even took our guests on a ‘woodland walk’ to canapes and bubbles in the woods before our wedding breakfast – which they loved, and was shaded from the 30 degree heat!
THE BEST BITS
I loved every moment, but especially being driven off from the church by our best man in his vintage 1930’s car with all of our guests waving from the beautiful priory ruins. We also enjoyed a special moment just the two of us spying on all of our guests on the wedding walk whilst enjoying a glass of bubbly – It was important for us to have some time for just us two.
ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE
I would encourage all brides to be not to panic or overly stress if they have not found THE dress after trying on many – I had tried LOTS before arriving at the Chapel and being greeted by a very calming Emma! I didn’t really have my heart set on a certain designer or style, but when I tried on my gown I really did have that ‘this is it’ moment, it was so comfortable and I just knew it suited me and was the one.
Also, don’t get caught up in what everyone else thinks or what the latest trends are – ensure that your day truly reflects you and your partner.
