Oli and Saskia's wedding is bringing us so much joy today! Originally scheduled to take place in June 2020 with 120 guests, the couple had planned to have an outdoor field wedding with tipi and nature inspired styling. The postponed date took place in late August, and after the intimate ceremony at St Nicholas Peper Harow church Oli and Saskia headed to the Peachy Playhouse outdoor West End Show Extravaganza at Loseley House. It might not have been the day they originally planned but it looked like such a fun and memorable alternative - we love to see how our couples have adapted their wedding receptions!

Saskia wore our Jesus Peiro 110 dotty taffeta wedding dress with statement bow, showing us you can most definitely still wear your dream wedding dress for a smaller celebration. After the ceremony, Saskia switched her heels for a fab pair of sparkly trainers and added some chic knitwear for a more relaxed look. Love!

Read on for more images of the day, and some words about the planning process in Saskia's own words.

Jesus Peiro 110 wedding dress

Jesus Piero - the pockets!! Very comfortable but elegant. Loved the pattern on the fabric.

My mum came with me to the appointment. She said immediately that it was THE dress and it stood out from the rest. She also loved the pockets šŸ˜‚

Dress Shopping

My favourite part of the dress shopping experience was trying on everything. It was so much fun!

After wedding receptions were restricted for a second time (two weeks before our wedding) the Miss Bush team were so lovely and understanding. I was due my last fitting the week after the announcement and I can't thank them enough for the supportive conversation we had over the phone. What a year!

Styling

In my hair I had a Victoria Percival ā€œTiaraā€ which had multiple gold grains of corn creating the tiara shape. We were due to have our reception in a field and a lot of the florals were going to have dried grasses featured in them.

My heels were simple as I knew I wasnā€™t keeping them on for long! But I had bought some silver glitter high tops from Russell and Bromley to tie into the bridesmaid dresses and flower girls shoes (also glittery.)

A nature inspired outdoor wedding

Everything was styled around our original field wedding reception. Grasses were included in the florals, the stationary and part of my outfit. I wanted the florals to give a sense that you were a Borrower- so Annie our Florist used really tall dried elements in her installations. I brought the gold tones of the grass into the napkins, glassware and ribbons also.

Iā€™m also half Dutch so we included a lot of orange into our day. Not the easiest colour but Annie did an amazing job.

The best bits

We were originally planning a wedding of 120. So with the restrictions it was a very different event. But I have to say that the incredible support, love and willing that our friends, family and suppliers (Previous and new) showed us on the day was so incredibly special. It meant a great deal to us.

Saskia's Advice

I really recommend trying on lots of different styles. I was sure I knew what I wanted my dress to look like but I ended up picking something different. It was also a lot of fun!

With organising your wedding we were so lucky to really get on with all our suppliers. And I think thatā€™s really important. We were all on the same page and they completely understood what we were after.

I was dead set on having the wedding we had planned two years ago. But if the world is still in an odd place when your wedding comes around we can honestly say that our Covid wedding was the best and happiest day of our lives.
