We're delighted to share Saskia & Jack's beautiful Spanish wedding with you today! The wedding took place in September, in the idyllic setting of the Las Sirenas resort in San Enrique de Guadiaro, with rustic styling and a warm colour palette of burnt orange and rich green greens which was perfect for the late summer day.

Saskia looked incredible in her perfectly fitted Suzanne Neville Sapphire wedding dress, which she styled with a sleek up-do, a romantic lace edged veil and classic pearl accessories.Read on to find out more about Saskia and Jack's day...

Suzanne Neville Sapphire wedding dress

I chose the classically understated and gorgeous 'Sapphire' gown by Suzanne Neville, which made me feel like an absolute queen on the day. With its beautiful skirt, button detailed corset and elegant neckline, I fell in love at first try.

I could only bring one visitor with me as we managed to get to Miss Bush just before the second lockdown but that made it all the more special for my mother and I. As soon as I saw my mum's face when I was in the 'Sapphire' gown, I knew that it was the dress for me, as she teared up almost immediately!

Dress Shopping

From my first step into Miss Bush, I knew that this wasn't going to be like any of the other bridal shopping experiences I had as a bride thus far! Rosie eased my jitters about finding "The One" immediately and was so proficient at fitting the samples that they looked almost tailored to me! At no point did I feel like I was on a timer or limited to one particular style and I was treated with nothing but kindness, enthusiasm and patience by the whole team (from shopping to picking up the dress!).

The Miss Bush team honestly went above and beyond for me as a client, as an example I was able to have my sisters and father "attend" the Chapel with me virtually via a video teleconference call. Which, in of itself, was a wonderfully sentimental touch that other shops did not offer me during that time period. Thank you all so much for all that you did in making my shopping experience seem a somewhat "normal" experience during such difficult times!

Styling

To showcase the elegant neckline of the dress, I decided to have my hair in a classic up-do. The accessories I wore on the day were a pair of drop diamond and pearl earrings from my Grandmother, a pearl bracelet from my Mother and my Mother-in-Law's pearl ring (which was my something borrowed). I also wore a double-tiered ribbon veil, which was purchased through Miss Bush and a gold and pearl detail hair clip from Etsy. I completed the look with a pair of electric blue Manolo Blahnik heels as my something blue!

A beautiful coastal wedding in Spain

We couldn't have picked a more gorgeous day in Spain, the sun was shining and so were our guests faces! Early on in the planning process we knew that we wanted an outdoor wedding with lots of colours and rustic Spanish charm. We were predominantly inspired by the wonderfully unique venue that is Las Sirenas (which translates to "The Mermaids" in Spanish) for our wedding, we wanted our styling to compliment and showcase the unique venue and it's surroundings. We decided immediately upon Burnt Orange as our wedding colour and used mermaids as the emblem on our wedding stationary. I also chose to use Greek Gods/ Goddesses as our table names due to the weird and wonderful creatures that featured at the venue (including Harpes and Sirens).

We also wanted to compliment the Autumn season, and so we chose orange, yellow, red and green as our primary colour palette with small pops of pink and lilac to balance those rustic hues. As you can see in the photos, our florists Unique by Roberto Silvosa utilised various textures and non-traditional flowers to form all of our floral details, from the Arbour to our spectacular top table Garland. I chose to have a cascading bouquet as well as I thought that this would compliment the structure of the dress, rather than the conventional round roses and cut-stem bouquet.

The best bits

Seeing the joy on all our guests faces and watching them react to everything we had planned for our special day! To be honest, it was really hard to pick out one thing, our vendors made everything so wonderful for us and our wedding planner Tara at WeDoUniqueWeddings had flawlessly organised it from start to finish.

Saskia's Advice

I think one of the first things to remind new brides is to enjoy your day and take in every second as much as you can, as the day flies so quickly! You have spent over (what feels like) a lifetime planning the day of your dreams, so step back and enjoy it. Yes, things will go not according to plan and some things are out of your control (such as guests testing positive for covid and having to pull out last minute) but remember why you are getting married and that this day will only happen once!

One final piece of advice is to break in your wedding shoes with socks and wear them around the house. Mine were seriously comfortable on the day due to me wearing them all the time to brighten up dull days in lockdown!
