Scarlett & Darrell's beautiful September wedding took place at The Barn at Botley Hill last Autumn. The Barn at Botley Hill is a stunning exclusive use wedding and event venue, offering a rustic but contemporary space with epic views across the Surrey countryside. We were so pleased to hold a styled shoot at the venue when it launched in 2019, (see it here) and it's now so brilliant to finally see a Miss Bush bride get married in this incredible space!Scarlett wore Anna Kara's Freesia - an elegant, feminine wedding dress made from exquisite floaty tulle and intricate French lace, with full length puff sleeves. The gown is decorated with delicate hand sewn flowers scattered across the waist and bodice, just perfect for the modern but pretty styling of Scarlett and Darrell's wedding day.

I loved the pouffy sleeves and the embroidered flowers, also the tulle skirt. I just loved everything about it 🙂

I brought my sister in law with me when I found the dress - it was April, the first day we were allowed to shop again. I had been to a few shops before lockdown and couldn't find anything that was different or "me". When I put this dress on there was something about it... I knew it was the one for me!

My sister in law loved it too even though the sample was huge and couldn't see how the sleeves would definitely look.

The Miss Bush shop is beautiful, but Emma and the team were so professional helpful & friendly. Which was so nice after being to a few shops that just make you feel rushed and under pressure to chose a dress.

Styling

I kept it quite simple. My shoes were just nude suede block heels from Aldo.
I loved my veil, which was personalised with our names and wedding date by Rebecca Anne Designs.

A modern, pretty wedding at The Barn at Botley Hill

The venue itself is just stunning, I love everything about it and you don't really need to do much to make it look better.
I had lots of nude pink and pampas grass flowers and green foliage everywhere.

I wasn't really into traditional wedding style. I made my own table plan from a wooden crate with polaroid pictures of our friends and family and had a Krispy Kreme wedding doughnut tower.

I just loved it and didn't want it to end. My favourite part was walking down the stairs to the aisle, seeing all friends and family after so much unknow before hand with Covid.

Scarlett's Advice

When it comes to the dress, keep looking until you know its the one - just go to Miss Bush!
For wedding planning, just what you want - it's your day.
