We are so delighted to share Teresa and Tom's relaxed, informal Surrey wedding with you today. Taking place at Hidden Valley, Goldalming, the day began with a romantic church ceremony close by, followed by a joyful procession through the stunning countryside to the reception location, which was styled impeccably by Nikki at Fiesta Fields.

Teresa's dress was a combination of styles from Suzanne Neville, working together to create her perfect dress. Starting with Hailey as a base, Teresa added Gigi's low back and the sleek skirt from Darya, which worked better with her vision for a celebration outdoors than Hailey's chiffon skirt. To style the look, Teresa chose a bold spotted veil along with chic Freya Rose earrings and fabulous coral sandals from Esska.

A Bespoke Suzanne Neville wedding dress

I chose Suzanne Neville Hailey, with a Darya skirt and Gigi back. I fell in love with the severe square neckline and belt of the Hailey instantly. But I couldn't see the organza skirt fitting in my vision of walking across a field and we had an overall vision of informal, so decided to switch for the more understated A line skirt, and simple Gigi back to keep with the clean lines. As I pulled together the 3 parts I didn't see it all together until the toile fitting, but right away I could tell it was the perfect choice for me. On the day the corseted fit was so flattering and I felt super comfortable and classic, without anything being too fitted or too grandiose.

Dress Shopping

I actually came on my own for the appointment that I found Gigi. I had been dress shopping with friends previously in London which was so fun, but I live locally to Miss Bush and popped down as I was drawn to quite a few of the minimalist modern styles available. It was really valuable to spend that 1:1 time with Corinne and she helped me work through which dress elements I did and didn't like and through customisation options in so much detail. I brought one of my bridesmaids back to show her Hailey before buying and she agreed it was the right one for me.

I could tell the team really knew what I wanted, I talked them through the dresses I'd tried so far and they knew I wanted a square neck in my heart but hadn't found the right fit just yet. They showed me a preview of the Hailey coming a few months later and booked for me to come back as soon as it was in store. They were 100% right 🙂

Styling

I wanted a statement veil as the dress is classic and could carry it, I had seen a divine polka dot veil with large spots on Instagram that wasn't in production anymore, so I reached out to a few veil designers and Unveiled by Sophie went the extra mile to source a similar fabric and make it for me. They really stood out against the dress.

Because of this I kept the hair simple with a low knot, and classic Freya Rose hoop earrings for the day. When I took my veil off I dialled up the earrings by switching to some party Soru earrings for the party dinner. Also as we did a procession from the church to the marquee, my bridesmaids packed my sunglasses for me.

We aimed for our day to be quite colourful and informal so I wore a pair of coral suede Esska platform heels, great choice as they were so comfy all day and love the colour peeking out in pictures.

About the Day

We shortlisted a bunch of venues but then we stumbled across Hidden Valley online - a field 5 minutes from our house in Godalming. We viewed only that (with Fiesta Fields) and knew right away it was perfect: personal to us, a beautiful location with a church nearby and we could make it our own.

Style wise we just wanted everything to be colourful and informal. Our colour scheme was inspired by aperol spritz and rosé - so we had orange napkins, bright pink and orange flowers, rainbow confetti, and a funfetti wedding cake inspired by Milk Bar. Tents n Events were stellar in the quality of the marquee and extra touches, and Nikki from Fiesta Fields managed our day flawlessly. Alice from Gastro led the amazing food and we had a sharing BBQ feast on the table, with summery plates of meats, prawns, sticky aubergine, squash etc. Kate from the Gorgeous Flower Company provided our wonderful colourful flowers and included such lovely touches like surprise flowers in the church arch to match my bouquet.

The best bits

We were so happy we chose the London Brass Strollers. We knew we wanted a roaming brass brand to accompany us from the church to the marquee which was only a 10 minute walk across a field, Gastro provided everyone with bubbles for the walk too. But a surprise favourite moment of the day for both Tom and I was the dinner set where the band had us all dancing on our chairs and crowdsurfing to the Backstreet Boys. I think the parents were quite surprised at the energy before dessert had even been served...but they've always known my friends and I love to drink!

Teresa's Advice

For me working with the lovely team at Miss Bush was key to finding the right dress, if something wasn't quite right with a dress they knew how to pinpoint what I was unsure on and what to try next, I loved trying a breadth of styles with them.
