Today we’re sharing Victoria & Danister’s classic, elegant wedding which took place in Germany earlier this year. Our bride lived in Baden-Baden for several years, so it was the ideal location to bring together their families & friends from all around the globe. Victoria wore Jesus Peiro’s 8004 wedding dress, which features a delicate lace bodice with full length lace sleeves and a structured skirt with pockets; still one of our absolute favourites from last year!
Over to Victoria to tell us more…
JESUS PEIRO 8004 LACE WEDDING DRESS WITH POCKETS
It was a stunning classic dress. I had been looking for a dress either in complete lace or a part of it, therefore this dress was perfect. I was originally thinking of having the arms removed to a capped sleeve, however I am very happy my mum convinced me to keep them as is. This made the dress even more unique. It made feel like a bride right away and I loved that it was very light.
DRESS SHOPPING
I came to your shop with my cousin and aunt. My cousin had been to your shop before and organized the visit. They both loved the dress and their reaction was very emotional. I loved the dress right away however couldn’t decide unless my mum would see it, who lives in Germany. I came back to your shop a few weeks later where I had organized to facetime my mum while trying it on again. She loved it just as much as I did and that confirmed my choice.
I loved the chapel, it is such a unique and fitting setting for a bridal shop. The best part however was the people, Rosie was lovely. She was genuinely nice and helpful.
STYLING
I had a very classic look and wore a veil that I bought at your shop too. The veil was longer than the dress with a lace edge that matched the top of the dress. I had my hair in an up-do with small white flowers that matched my bouquet. I wore shoes from Rainbow that I can only recommend, they were very comfortable.
A CLASSIC, ELEGANT WEDDING IN GERMANY
I took a lot of inspiration from Instagram, weddings I attended as a guest and pinterest. It was very helpful to decide what I liked and disliked. The style of our wedding was very classic, we had a church ceremony in the afternoon followed by a reception. We chose green and white as the colours for our flowers and I am so happy we went with a garland over the church entrance. It really made the church even prettier. The flowers in the room were small bouquets matching my bridal bouquet, for everyone to be able to take a small bouquet home.
THE BEST BITS
The best part was taking our vows at the church, it was much more moving than expected. A friend of ours, who is a trained opera singer sung during the service making it very special. In general, I just loved that so many friends and family made such an effort to come from all over the world. It was great to spend time with everyone. Many had already come on Friday and stayed until Sunday afternoon.
ADVICE FROM THE BRIDE
I would recommend trying on different dresses and go to several shops to see what you like. Sticking to your budget is very important and don’t forget to factor in accessories for the dress. In regard to planning I found the bridebook.com app very helpful. It was great to have a suggestion and timeline for every step of the way. Also, if you can, take your time to choose wisely and plan far in advance.
